About Newcastle Wing Chun
At Newcastle Wing Chun we are interested in developing our understanding of Wing Chun Kung Fu and how this relates to a better understanding of ourselves.

We believe that martial arts can allow a person to develop a greater understanding of themselves (and others). Whilst we believe Wing Chun is a realistic and highly effective martial art which gives practitioners practical skills in self defence, it also, with enough pracitce, helps students develop themselves as indivduals. Adopting such an aim, a one of (self) improvement translates neatly into ultimately what becomes, your Wing Chun.

We do not use belts or sashes and there are no gradings or similar at Newcastle Wing Chun. We believe that knowldege is best shared and in doing so, everyone learns. From your first lesson to the last lesson you take, our aim is the same - to learn, to share and to develop. We are all beginners in the end.

Beginners then are very welcome. Whether its your first lesson or you're returning to practice, come join us at any class.

We do not operate a membership or gym fee policy. You pay as you train because, as the saying goes, you'll get out what you put in!

We do not have a uniform. Students usually choose to wear jogging bottoms, training shoes and similar. Expect to break a sweat, but peak phyical fitness is not required.
